Dear Paloma Families,
Welcome back, Panthers! We realize we are entering this year in uncharted waters and with many unknowns. However, one thing we know for sure is that our teachers, staff, and students need our support more than ever. As the PTO Board, we are committed to holding as many events/activities as we can to normalize the school year as much as possible.
It is also critical we continue to fundraise to continue to support our full-time social worker (the PTO pays half of this position's salary). We also want to continue to provide our teachers with mini-grants to help compensate them for the out of pocket expenses they are incurring to teach their students virtually and any other needs that may arise throughout the year.
At this time, we are taking it month-by-month and planning fundraisers accordingly. We will not be able to hold any events in the fall and we will re-evaluate after winter break. At this time, we are planning monthly dine-outs, a fall Read-a-Thon, and a virtual Holiday Boutique!
I am excited to share with you that the PTO now has its own website. Welcome! Please have a look around. It is still under construction, but we are very excited about all the features available to us. This exciting new software will allow us to streamline all of our processes and have everything conveniently located in one place. You will be able to shop online for Paloma merchandise, volunteer, sign up for monthly PTO communication, see our calendar of events, and download our new mobile app! Please make sure you log on and create an account for your family. This way you will have access to all of these tools.

4th Grade Recorder Information
Dear 4th Grade Paloma Families,
As part of the music curriculum, all fourth-grade students learn to play the recorder in music class.
Music education through recorder study is a great way to increase musical knowledge and skill, such as
reading music, that is motivating to students. This year will be a little different with students receiving
recorder instruction online as part of their music class. Every 4th grade student will need to obtain their
own recorder for use at home. I highly recommend you purchase a recorder through the school as we
can often get them at a better price ($5 each if paying by cash or check and $5.50 if paying via PayPal)
and you can be assured you are getting the correct type and quality that is needed. If you prefer to
purchase one on your own, make sure you check it is the correct type by emailing Ms. Gustafson first
(email@example.com). Please also let Ms. Gustafson know if you need financial assistance in
obtaining a recorder for your student. The deadline to order is October 5th .
To purchase a recorder, please fill out the Recorder Order Form found within in the 4th Grade Specials
Classroom under the “Music” tab or access it here: Recorder Order Form
Don’t forget to submit your payment after filling out the form. You may choose one of the following
Pay via PayPal at palomapto.org (recorders purchased through PayPal cost $5.50)
Drop off cash or a check made out to Paloma PTO at the Paloma Office (recorders purchased by
cash or check cost $5.00)

Hi Paloma families! We hope you will consider helping our school by buying items with Box Tops or purchasing from Amazon through their smile program.
